Google Reader - Done Deal

A while ago I wrote about Google Reader. It's a web-based RSS feed reader I began using when my Windows-based RSS application failed to work under Windows Vista. Please note that at the time I was using a beta version of Windows Vista, so it was perfectly understandable that my RSS application of choice, RSS Bandit, wouldn't work. My understanding is that RSS Bandit will be fully functional with lots of new features when Vista is released to the general public in February 2007.

That said, I am now a full convert to Google Reader. I never thought I'd fully switch to a web-based reader, but quite honestly there is nothing I really miss by using Google Reader. I guess if I was flying on airplanes more frequently than I am and needed offline access to my feeds, I might, but as it stands now this is the right choice. No matter where I go now, my feeds are up-to-date. Thats the most important thing and it may seem like a small thing, but it isn't. I've tried various synchronization techniques with Windows-based readers, but none have worked nearly as well as this.

So, for those who love RSS reading, Google Reader is quite a good thing.
