Remember 9/11
where the twin towers were...a view from hoboken taken by
kirby
In the short life of this blog, I've made it a point not to talk about politics here. That continues today. I watched tonight's episode of
Koppel on Discovery
discussing 9/11 and the debate of privacy related to the war on terror. It was a town meeting essentially, and I would recommend everyone take a look at it. There were lot's of differing opinions from both sides of the political isle. Some of those opinions made my blood boil and some made me cheer. The most important point is that it was a civil discussion, which I feel we've not seen much of since that horrible day. We need more of this stuff. We need real discussions in a public forum without the political spin we are exhausted by.
The whole nation suffered on 9/11. I'm a life-long New Jersey resident, spending the majority of the last 6 years in Hoboken directly across the Hudson River with a fantastic view of the New York City skyline. Five years later, there's still a huge hole in that skyline. I feel for every one of the family members who lost someone that day. Please never forget that day and the people who died in New York, Washington and that field in PA.
